Micro Ebike
August 2018-December 2018
The goal of the micro ebike was to stuff the power and range of a full sized ebike into a small package that could easily fit in the trunk of a car — the ultimate last mile transportation vehicle.
The entire frame is welded from scratch using tubes that I cut, coped, slotted, or bent. The bike is fully suspended including a leading link front fork.
The electronics enclosure contains the motor controller and gives everything more weather resistance. Attached to the enclosure is a switch panel with an embedded charging port.
The bike also has head and rear lights which can be toggled using a switch on the steering tube.
I also upholstered a custom seat using an old pair of jeans.
The bike runs off an 1800w BLDC motor powered by two 13s 4p 18650 packs in parallel. The top speed of the bike is 24mph and it has about 12 miles of range.
